Results

Objective evaluation after operation showed that the excellent and satisfactory rate reached to 95%; and subjective evaluation showed that the excellent and satisfactory rate reached to 100%. Six of the 20 cases preserved the nipple-areola complexes. All the cases were followed up for 3 ~18 months,no metastasis and recurrence were found.

Conclusion

Immediate breast reconstruction with silicone gel prosthesis after modified mastectomy is proven to be an effective and safe method with the advantage of shorter recovery time in earlier breast cancer.
